Biography

Eric WOERTH was born on 29 January 1956 in Creil (Oise)

Education :

HEC Paris and the Institut d'Etudes Politiques in Paris

Professional career:

June 1997 to June 2002: Associate Director, Arthur Andersen (in charge of public-sector consulting) 1990: Director and then Partner, Bossard Consultants (in charge of the local authority consulting department)
1982: Head of Internal Audit Unit, then deputy head of financial operations and negotiations at Pechiney
1981: Legal and tax adviser at Arthur Andersen International

Elected offices:

MP for the Oise département, from 2002 to 2004, and since 2005. Re-elected in 2007.
Mayor of Chantilly (Oise), since June 1995.
Member of the Picardie Conseil Général from 1986 to 2002
Vice-President of the Picardie Conseil Général from 1992 to 1998

Ministerial positions:

Minister for the Budget, Public Accounts, the Civil Service and State Reform (since June 2009)
Minister for the Budget, Public Accounts and the Civil Service from May 2007 to June 2009
Minister of State to the Minister for the Civil Service and State Reform, with responsibility for State Reform from 2004 to 2005

Party responsibilities:

Since 2009: political adviser to the UMP party
Since 2002: Treasurer of the UMP party
2007: Treasurer for the Nicolas Sarkozy political campaign
2002: Treasurer for the Jacques Chirac political campaign
1995-1997: Adviser to the Prime Minister's Private Office with responsibility for Parliamentary relations
